In the Books of Old, the Doctrines and Covenants by which we live are laid out for all to know and take to heart. Obedience is Life, and Life comes from Obedience. Those who disobey face Annihilation.
It is through obedience that our crops will grow, that goods are produced, and our society will function. And it is through our strict duty to the Covenants laid out by our forefathers that the Sleeper will not awaken.
Tend to your tasks. Do not look at the Temple. Do not speak of the Terror. And the Dothan will not return.

The world has ended.
In its place is a world flattened and broken, where time has been displaced and darkness perpetually blankets the sky. Horrors crawl through the streets. People hide in fear. At the Centre of the World, an ancient city is being reconstructed, and once complete, an unspeakable evil from outside of Time will have the means to bring to fruition its unholy plan to reshape the universe.
The Doctor and Christine must find a way to stop this from happening. With the help of a young woman named Moira Skye and a disturbed man named Trent, they must make their way across the shattered world to confront a mad god and his minions.
But even if they make it past the Museum of Lies, survive the Hounds of a certain ancient Greek hunter, and cross the near-infinite wastes, how will they defeat a being with the power to destroy a universe?

I keep on hearing the police have caught me but they wont fix me just yet. I have laughed when they look so clever and talk about being on the right track. That joke about Leather Apron gave me real fits. I am down on whores and I shant quit ripping them till I do get buckled. Grand work the last job was. I gave the lady no time to squeal. How can they catch me now. I love my work and want to start again. You will soon hear of me with my funny little games. I saved some of the proper red stuff in a ginger beer bottle over the last job to write with but it went thick like glue and I cant use it. Red ink is fit enough I hope ha. ha. The next job I do I shall clip the ladys ears off and send to the police officers just for jolly wouldn’t you. Keep this letter back till I do a bit more work, then give it out straight. My knife’s so nice and sharp I want to get to work right away if I get a chance. Good Luck.

After receiving a distress signal from a dimensional void, The Doctor and Christine are lead to the 19th Century Arctic where they become involved in one of history’s great unsolved mysteries.
They soon discover a pair of British sailing vessels trapped in the ice. The crews are dying one by one despite the fact that the crewmen are healthy and have an abundance of supplies, shelter and food. The Doctor, perplexed by the unexplained deaths as well as the distress signal, pledges his aid.
Unfortunately the crews do not trust The Doctor and Christine and suspect they are behind the mysterious deaths. Their case is not aided when they are found standing over the body of a crewman.
The situation worsens with disappearances, time disruptions, and a hunt across a barren wasteland. Then they discover the real trouble.
The Doctor and Christine must save themselves and the crews, but history is working against them. The year is 1848, this is Sir John Franklin’s expedition to discover the Northwest Passage and there were no survivors.

Puerto Rico, 1901. It has been three years since the end of the Spanish-American war. In its aftermath, the island is adjusting to life under the control of a new government. Life goes on…or does it? Into this unsure time, the Doctor and Christine find themselves drawn into a whirlwind of strange events.
On the farm of a gentle and kind man named Orlando, calves are found dead, horribly and ritualistcally mutilated. On their bodies, runes and symbols have been carved, forming the design of a dark work.
On a clear night, the home of an known occultist is decimated by what appears to be a violent tornado…yet none of the near-by homes were damaged. And among the wreckage, the body of a United States Senator is found, completely untouched, when just an hour prior this same senator had only arrived onto the island, many miles away.
A murder attempt. An army captain bent on serving justice, no matter what the costs. The sacrifice of a young woman. Rising political tensions between island natives and US soldiers. Animal mutilations. And a dead senator.
The Doctor needs to discover how all of these pieces fit, before the pattern of darkness overtakes him.
But, as he soon discovers, it’s already too late.

In the small seaside town of Middleshire, in the late-nineteenth century, life is at a turning point. The fishermen are finding it more and more difficult to make catches. The birds and other wildlife appear to be migrating away, as though something were scaring them. No one has made contact with the outside world for some time… and no one is really concerned about it. Buildings and objects around town that some claim to have been standing for years are unfamiliar to others. And then, there’s that storm that is coming…
During all of this, a man comes, stumbling down the road that leads out of town. A man called the Doctor- injured, unable to remember quite who he is or what lead him to Middle shire. He knows that something horrible has happened to Christine. He knows that the TARDIS is gone. But he can’t remember what caused all of this… and if the same thing is destroying Middle shire.
Soon, he has murders to solve. But what do they have to do with the changes occurring throughout the town, or a little girl named Cassandra who appears to see visions of the murders as they happen? Why has Nerice Fetner, newly arrived in town, taken such an interest in little Cassandra? And what is the secret of the dollhouse in Cassandra’s closet?
Alone, injured, and desperate, the Doctor must discover the answers. Fast. Because, this time, the maelstrom of events in which the Doctor finds himself will cost more than he ever feared.
